Meet the new teachers at Abilene High School! The students and staff of AHS are very excited to see new faces around the school. We have new teachers and staff in all departments.

Mrs. Hinkle-- MRS. HINKLE --
Mrs. Hinkle is very family oriented. She and her husband have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. This is a new chapter for them and they have high hopes. Mrs. Hinkle is ready to start meeting her goals for the school year.

“I am a Christian and I know God has moved me to Abilene, KS for a purpose. I am excited to be on this adventure and find out what that purpose is. My goals for this year are to create a successful culinary program for AHS and be an encouragement to my students and colleagues,” she said while discussing her expectations for the year.

She teaches Culinary Essentials, Culinary Arts, and Baking and Pastries 1 & 2.

Mrs. Cortez-- MRS. CORTEZ --

“I know most 70’s songs (thanks to my parents) and find myself listening to them a lot!” she said after being asked about what makes her unique.

Also, when she was younger, she wanted to be the President of the United States. If you are ever bored, Mrs. Cortez would recommend binge watching the Harry Potter movies.

Mrs. Foth-- MRS. FOTH --
Mrs. Foth is excited for new routines at Abilene High School.

According to Mrs. McGivney, “She is very talented with crafts. And she makes really cool things.”

Mr. Evans-- MR. EVANS --
Mr. Evans teaches Carpentry I and II, woodworking essentials, furniture and cabinetry fabrication, and stagecraft.

“My goal for this year would be to survive and get a better grasp on all the organization that goes into being a better teacher,” he says.

Before he became a teacher, however, he wanted to be a professional baseball player. He also likes any show that is related to the outdoors.

Mrs. Taylor-- MRS. TAYLOR –
Mrs. Taylor's favorite movie is “A League of Their Own.” When she was little, she knew that she wanted to go into Education.

“I am very excited to be back in the classroom teaching math and working with math students this year. My goal is to help math students reach their potential and make the math learning experience enjoyable,” said Mrs. Taylor about the new school year.

She teaches Algebra I and Algebra Lab.

Mr. Herrman-- MR. HERRMAN –
Mr. Herrman’s favorite ice cream is Turtle Pecan. He loves all superhero movies. He also played collegiate basketball against several players who went on to the NBA, including Nick Collison. When he was little, he wanted to be a teacher and a coach.

“I’m excited to teach and mentor the students in a community where I have called home almost all my life. I want to help the students achieve their goals by giving them the tools and empowering them to think big.” he said.
